Every year in May when we get back from our rich and stimulating Finnovation trips we are full of ideas and resolutions. Then we encounter a wall of energy in Paris, where everything to do with innovation seems to happen in May and June (as I often complain about here). So it’s hard to sift through the Turku nuggets and display them against the stream of Frannovation.
One such nugget came when Juha Kaskinen, director of the Finland Futures Institute, and he was the closing speaker on our Finnovation visit two weeks ago, mentioned Markku Wilenius’ research on « Human Beings and Values in the 6th Wave ». He implied that somehow this involved Holacracy, a subject we became interested in last year when Ilaria Zucconi from Politecnico di Milano, was doing her research on « how organisations organise themselves ».
I will try and contact Markku to find out more. Meanwhile, here is the link to the research being done so far, there is a report to read first.
The « wave » referred to is a Kondratiev wave, which the wonderful Harry Rothman used to work on with the ITMPs, when he came from the UK to do a 3 day module on forecasting in the 90s.
